Hulusi Flute Hulusi Flute aka Vietnamese Sau Bau. Direct from Vietnam! These are known in different parts of Asia as variously; Hulusi in China, Pi Mamtao in Myanmar. Sau Bau means 'gourd flute' in Vietnamese. A very rare and unusual instrument from Vietnam. This will require alot of practice to master and play to even a decent level. Its its a large instrument made primarily from Bamboo and the bell is made from a gourd. The instrument comes in a strong case with cushioning inside and has a shoulder strap. It looks great aesthetically too. Dimensions: Case: 44 x 14 x 14cm , HaLusi: 40x9x9cm Like the related free reed pipe called bawu, the hulusi has a very pure, very mellow clarinet-like sound.
