Description

The Animal Kingdom contains traceable designs for either crewel embroidery or needlepoint.  Some of the designs include a traceable drawing and a black-and-white photo of the finished project.  Some of the designs only contain a black-and-white photo of the finished project, so the photo would need to be traced for transferring onto fabric or canvas.  The first few pages of the book contain instructions for transferring the designs onto either fabric (for crewel embroidery) or needlepoint canvas.  The last three pages contain instructions on how to work several different types of needlework stitches (back stitch, chain stitch, couching, etc.)  The featured designs and projects are: The Owl in Winter; Owls in a Tree; Chessie the Cat; Peake the Cat; Three Little Kittens; Racoon; Black Work Snail; Black Work Frog; Fawn; The Peaceable Kingdom; Galloping Horses; Egyptian Birds; Bell Pull with an owl, chickadee, racoon, squirrel, rabbit; Bee; Ladybug Pin Cushion; Fox; Penguins; Chinese Butterflies; Needlepoint Butterfly.  48 pages.
